The system provides a number of feedback mechanisms to the consumer, they are all designed to increase the signal
to noise ratio and to ensure that you get information that is both relevant and important to you.
Each article gives you access to a number of ranking capabilities; these include:
Thumbs up/down
– this adjusts the relative importance of the topic for you, if something is hot and you need to know
about it, hit the thumbs up and the system will rank articles about this topic higher than others.
Source trust rating – Every internet user knows that some sites are better and more
reliable than others, our system allows you to rate each source (if you want to) so that articles from
those sources are prioritised higher or lower according to this measure.
Relevance – If an article pops up that is about something irrelevant to you then you
can flag this; following that feedback the editor of the gazette can adjust your scope rules or simply
remove a topic completely from your gazette.
The combination of these various ranking and ratings systems ensures that your results are on target
and relevant to you.
