So, now we have seen some of the challenges that face information consumers who have these kinds of business
oriented questions, let’s look at some of the potential characteristics of a solution that would help us get
to the surveillance information we need.
We need a wish list of things that would help us answer our question, and more importantly manage this and
similar questions and results going forward into the future.

- The internet “understood” our business
- We had a place to store all our business questions so that everyone could benefit from them
- Everyone had a place to keep track of all those WEB sites, blogs, news feeds and
communities where they’d found useful information.
- The internet knew what we’d already seen
- We had a way of easily publishing results to colleagues, in one place, not scattered around
- The internet understood what is important and relevant to us, today.
- There was some mechanism where we could discuss findings, to add value and context
- An easy to access archive of what we’ve found before
- We had someone working on our behalf, keeping track of relevant stuff so that we can
get on with running the business
